After a stint in Toronto, Blink's Garden has returned to the Winnipeg Fringe to spread it's message of community building.

Originally a 77 stanza "epic kids' poem", this story has grown into a stage production that is now on it's fourth Fringe Festival.

"There are sad moments . . . there are some funny moments, and there is lots of music," the play's director and creator John Janzen said about what to expect from the show.

"There are jokes for parents and jokes for kids," Janzen said. The youngest actor in the play is 10, while the oldest is approaching senior years, and Janzen says this play is for everyone in between.

The message of community building is one Janzen hopes shines through during the play, since the original purpose of the story was to inspire youth to reach out in their communities.

"Step one to changing the world is to connect with people who are not like you," Janzen said. "When you connect with someone who is different, you find out their strengths and weaknesses are different than yours."
