Blowing snow across the Red River Valley could cause visibility issues on the highways.

A blowing snow advisory has been issued in:

  • Morden-Winkler-Altona-Morris
  • Portage la Prairie-Headingley-Brunkild-Carman
  • Steinbach-St. Adolphe-Emerson-Vita-Richer

Environment Canada is predicting poor visibility as winds gust to 60 km/h along with falling snow. They expect travel to be hazardous but no highways have been closed.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when visibility is expected to be 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.

The advisory is expected to be lifted by later this morning.

Northern Manitoba is under an extreme cold warning today.
