A presumptive case of 2019-novel coronavirus was announced Sunday in Ontario.

The case in Ontario is travel-related, and the current risk of contracting the coronavirus is still low.

Alberta's chief medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw says the province's health officials are working to ensure the system is ready to respond effectively, if needed, to the coronavirus.

She says respiratory infections are much more likely to be caused by a common virus, such as influenza.
