Jesus' birthplace lit up in celebration as the Church of the Nativity held their annual tree lighting service.
The elaborate ceremony in Bethlehem included a nativity reenactment, music, and included Fr Francesco Patton, a top official with the Catholic Church in the Holy Land.
The tree sits in Manger Square, outside the church which sits on what is believed to be the location of Jesus' birth.
