The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex indoor pool, located at 999 Sargent Ave., will reopen on Sunday, April 2, 2023, following mechanical repairs and upgrades, as well as to allow time for recruitment and training of lifeguards.

"Facilities like the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex are more than just buildings – they’re where the stories of our neighbourhoods are written," says John Orlikow, Chairperson of the Standing Policy Committee on Community Services. "Through the Recreation and Library Facility Investment Strategy, Council is ensuring these important assets are maintained for generations to come.”

Upgrades included replacing fire dampers and the building’s air handling unit. The cost of these upgrades to date is approximately $1.55 million, funded primarily through the Council-approved Recreation and Library Facility Investment Strategy, which is investing $50 million into facility improvements over three years.

"Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex is a vital resource and community hub for Daniel McIntyre residents," says Cindy Gilroy, Councillor for Daniel McIntyre. "I’m pleased to see the pool reopen with these important upgrades, as we work towards hiring more lifeguards to increase our aquatic program offerings."

Recreation programming at the facility is now available through the Spring/Summer 2023 Leisure Guide. Registration can be completed:
