Staff & students at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) left their cars at home for two weeks as classes went back in session this fall.

It was part of the Campus Commuter Challenge, which took place September 16 - 29, 2017. The challenge encourages people to find alternate forms of sustainable transportation, whether it be carpooling with others, public transportation, or something more physical like walking or cycling to school.

CMU ended up logging the most sustainable kilometres in Manitoba, and second in the entire country.

Combined CMU logged 3,967 KM and saved 298 L of fuel. The campus-wide effort also saw a combined total of 66,935 calories burned.
