Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services (WFPS) says that WFPS and Manitoba Hydro crews worked together on Thursday to stop a gas leak on Springfield Road.

Thursday morning at 10:50 a.m. crews responded to a report of a gas leak. The leak was reported to be in an area under construction in the 1000 block of Springfield Road.

WFPS crews arrived, evacuating nearby businesses and residences while Manitoba Hydro crews stopped the leak.

Just over two hours later, at 1:09 p.m, the situation was declared under control and people were allowed back into their buildings.

No injuries are being reported.
