The rate of hospitalization of those infected with COVID-19 continues to drop in Manitoba. On Thursday, the province released its first COVID-19 bulletin since last Friday. 

As of Thursday, there are 29 Manitobans in ICU with COVID-19. This week has seen 13 new ICU cases, an 18.2 per cent decrease in new cases from the previous week.

There are 459 Manitobans in hospital with COVID-19. This week has seen 139 new hospitalizations, a 23.6 per cent decrease from the previous week. When it comes to hospitalizations and ICU admissions, provincial officials have indicated that many of those in hospital and ICU are there for other medical reasons but then also tested positive for COVID-19.

Another 11 Manitobans have died with COVID-19 since Friday. Today's death toll includes:

  • a male in his 90s from the Prairie Mountain Health region (reported Saturday);
  • a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region (reported Saturday);
  • a male in his 80s from the Southern Health Sud region (reported Saturday);
  • a male in his 60s from the Southern Health Sud region (reported Saturday);
  • a male in his 60s from the Northern health region (reported Sunday);
  • a female in her 90s from the Prairie Mountain Health region and linked to the outbreak at The Sherwood personal care home (reported Sunday);
  • a male in his 90s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the outbreak at Tuxedo Villa personal care home (reported Wednesday);
  • a female in her 40s from the Prairie Mountain Health region and linked to the outbreak at Brandon Regional Health Centre (reported Wednesday);
  • a female in her 90s from Prairie Mountain Health region (reported Thursday);
  • a female in her 30s from the Winnipeg health region (reported Thursday); and
  • a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region (reported Thursday).
