Deacon's Corner will be slow going Tuesday as the busy intersection reconstruction enters a new phase.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is encouraging motorists to be patient and exercise caution while travelling through the area.

A temporary traffic signal shutdown will be in effect tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.  During that time, the intersection will be controlled by flagpersons. Traffic will be transitioned from a four-lane undivided highway to a four-lane divided highway. Once the temporary shutdown is complete, the new permanent traffic control signals will be operational for all directions in the intersection.

Delays are expected, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure say the project is close to being completed, but clean-up is expected to last until next spring.
