Organizers of the Manitoba protest say they feel policies are being made based on fear. Patrick Allard, from the group Manitoba Together, says that he feels people at risk of COVID-19 can be protected "just like we do every year during respiratory illness season. We always protect the elderly and immunocompromised while we still continue on as business as usual."
