Whether you'll be in Gretna, Morden, Winkler, Carman, or anywhere in between, there are probably some fun events happening near you.

Monday, May 29

  • A community barbeque will be held at 6 pm at Gretna Prairie Centre. Proceeds will be shared by the Centre and Gretna Volunteer Fire Department.
  • Kids ages 8 and up wanting to learn more about the game of golf, can sign up for “Little Swingers” at Oakview Golf Course. This 4-week course begins Monday at 6 pm. Cost is $30. Call the pro shop at 204-327-5590.
  • An introduction to the game of cricket is being held at 6:30 pm at Morden Access Event Centre. This is free and open to all ages, but you do need to register. Contact Morden Rec office to save your spot.

Tuesday, May 30

  • The W.C. Miller band and choir students invite you to a spring concert at 7 pm at Buhler Hall, Gretna.

Thursday, June 1

  • The Dominion City United Church is holding a bake sale and barbeque lunch from 11:30 to 1. It will take place at Franklin Craft Club. If you would like to donate baked items, you are welcome to do so. There will also be some craft tables set up.
  • School of the Kingdom invites you to 'Met by Love: a Final Tribute to School of the Kingdom!” Join us at 7 pm at Winkler Gospel Mission Church to worship and share testimonies of the amazing things He has done in and through the school! You can visit their Facebook page for more information.

Saturday, June 3

  • Enjoy an evening of fun with the hits of Neil Diamond as performed by Jason Scott at 8 pm at Carman Legion Hall. Tickets are $25 at 204-745-2454.
  • The 9U Lowe Farm Grand Slam Tournament is taking place at 9 am. You’ll have a chance to meet the Winnipeg Goldeyes at noon, along with family entertainment.
  • A babysitter’s course for ages eleven and up will be held at Morden Access Event Centre. Register with Morden Recreation office.
  • A Rocha Pembina Valley Interpretive Centre invites you to Pembina Valley Bioblitz happening from 10 to 3. This event celebrates the biodiversity of the Pembina Valley, giving visitors opportunity for guided hikes, hands-on activities and more. There will be activities for all ages! Please bring a bagged lunch and water bottle.
  • Winkler Family Resource Centre is hosting a Teddy Bear Picnic from 11 to 2 at Bethel Heritage Park. Bring your favourite stuffy or teddy bear for a check-up, play a variety of games, and enjoy dance presentations by local Celtic dancers and much more. A hot dog lunch for $3 will be available.

Saturday and Sunday

  • The province’s largest truck and tractor pull is happening at Manitoba Stampede Grounds in Morris. The Valley Ag Society and Fairway Ford present “Rumble in the Valley”, two days of earth-shaking power with more than 40 competitors. Saturday night also features The Sean Taylor Band. Sunday, June 4 - PENTECOST

  • Carman Legion Branch #18 is hosting a Decoration Day and rededication of World War I Cenotaph at Greenwood Cemetery in Carman. Please bring a lawn chair.
  • A fish fry is planned at La Riviere Community Rec Centre, from 4 to 6:30 pm.
  • The Back 40 Festival is happening at Morden Park Bowl. Stroll through the artisan village, food vendors and children’s activities will also be held. Musicians include the Joey Landreth Trio, Sweet Alibi, Al Simmons, Lakes and Pines and many more. Tickets are $20. Kids ages 12 and under are free.
  • The Winkler Mens Open. Register at the pro shop.
  • Family Day at Winkler Bible Camp, so come and down and try the activities followed by a free barbeque supper. Registration is not required just come on by between 2 and 5 to try the activities, and the barbeque follows at 5:30.
