From Paska to festivals, to opportunities to donate, there are all kinds of things happening around Southern Manitoba this week.

Monday, April 10

  • Enjoy fresh Paska (Easter Buns) and coffee at Winkler Senior Centre at 2:00 pm. Cost is $4, and if available, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase some at the end of the afternoon.

Tuesday, April 11 to Thursday, April 13

  • Morden Festival of the Arts presents the French and English Speech Arts sessions at Morden Alliance Church. Sessions will be held at 9:00 am and 1:15 pm daily, as well as an evening session at 7:00 on the 12th and 13th. There is a two dollar admission fee.

Wednesday, April 12

  • The Faces of Gateway Resources Fundraising Dinner Gala is happening at 6:00 pm at the Days Inn Conference Centre in Winkler. The evening features a performance by Lakes and Pines, a silent auction and inspiring stories from Gateway participants employed in the community. Tickets are $100 each or $700 for a table of 8. Call Judy at 204-325-7304 to order your tickets. All money raised will support ongoing programming and projects at Gateway Resources.
  • Winkler Senior Centre is hosting an information session on preventing falls and about an intergenerational walking group starting in May. This takes place at 9:30 am.

Thursday, April 13

  • Altona Senior Centre is hosting a waffle breakfast beginning at 8:30 am. Cost is $7.
  • A blood donor clinic will be held at Rhineland Pioneer Centre from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Call 1-888-2-DONATE to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Saturday, April 15

  • Thousand Oaks Ministries is holding an Easter music night at 7:30 pm at PW Enns Centennial Concert Hall. Enjoy music by the Blue Collar Harmony Boys and His Anchor Holds.
