The NFL Clear Bag Policy will be coming to Winnipeg on Thursday and fans are being reminded to take note.

In a release by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, fans who will be attending the August 22 NFL exhibition game at Investors Group Field were informed that they will be under the NFL's Clear Bag Policy.

"It is strongly encouraged that fans not bring any type of bags to the stadium," the statement reads. Limited types of bags will, however, be permitted inside the stadium, including:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags that are 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options

Exceptions will be made for items that are medically necessary after proper inspection at a designated the gate.

Items that are prohibited will include purses larger than the size of a small clutch, coolers, backpacks, briefcases, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage, seat cushions, strollers, computer bags, camera bags, diaper bags, or any bag larger than outlined above.

Should you arrive at the game with a bag or item that is prohibited by the policy, it will need to be taken back to your vehicle or residence, disposed of, or checked in.

Gates for the exhibition game will open at 6:00 p.m. and fans are encouraged to plan for an early arrival to help ensure a smooth flow of entry into the stadium.

Fans are also reminded that season parking passes for the Blue Bombers and Valour FC will not be permitted for this event. $20 cash parking and the Park & Ride will be available. Buses will operate as they do for Blue Bombers games.
