A mother of five has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash that closed the Perimeter Highway on Wednesday.

42-year-old Tammy Rosko of La Salle was driving to work early Wednesday morning when the crash occurred.

RCMP say a westbound pickup truck, being driven by a 32-year-old male from Winnipeg, crossed the median and struck the minivan Rosko was driving head-on.

Rosko was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was taken to hospital via Stars Air Ambulance with serious injuries.

RCMP have determined seatbelts were in use and that speed was not a factor in the collision. Officers are now focusing their attention on what caused the vehicle to cross over the median.

Headingley RCMP traffic Services along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
