One victim has been taken to hospital in critical condition after a fire in a one-and-a-half storey home.

At 10:13 p.m. on October 31, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service rushed to a fire in the 500 block of Pritchard Avenue. 

Crews were met with heavy smoke and flames but were able to contain the fire by 11:19 p.m. 

During their primary search, firefighters rescued a victim who was then treated and transported by paramedics in critical condition.

The home suffered extensive damage. The cause of the fire has not been discovered and an investigation is underway.
