The Blue Bombers made a pit stop on their way to the airport this week at Winnipeg's City Hall to hoist their flag.

"This community, this city, this province is all in behind our beloved Winnipeg Blue Bombers," Mayor Brian Bowman says.

Bowman likened the team to the people of the city. "This team, this organization, really does a lot of things like the city it represents. They work with passion, with grit, and determination."

While the Blue Bombers have made the most Grey Cup appearances in the CFL's history with 24, they haven't won a Grey Cup since 1990. The last time the had a chance to win the CFL championship was in 2010.

"We're obviously all going to be cheering very hard for our Blue Bombers this weekend when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats."

Kickoff for the 107th Grey Cup is Sunday at 5 p.m. CST.
