Winnipeg's longest-running multicultural event has broken attendance records after two years of Folklorama online.

Folklorama ran 24 pavilions in-person around Winnipeg from July 31 until the big finale on August 13.

According to their news release, pavilions saw an average increase in attendance of 14 per cent over the previous Festival in 2019, which was the organization’s 50th edition. A total of 168,515 visits took place across the 24 participating pavilions.

"Over these past couple weeks, we have seen the beauty and excitement of Folklorama reignited," says Teresa Cotroneo, Executive Director, Folklorama.

The committee is already gearing up for next year's event that will take place August 6-19, 2023.

"Thank you to all the Folklorama member communities, volunteers, and artists for their incredible energy, hospitality, and for opening up their hearts and homes to share what makes Manitoba so special – our people."
