A former Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach has died.

Dave Ritchie coached the Bombers from 1999-2004.

In his time as a coach, Ritchie went on to win three Grey Cup Championships in 1990, 1994 and 2006.

Ritchie was inducted into the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 2014, and in 2022, he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

After hearing about his death, fans took to social media to share memories and their condolences.

"Dave was one of the great men not only in the game of football but, more importantly, in the game of life," said another fan.

Ritchie passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was 85.
