A well-known broadcaster whose career started with Golden West has retired after more than 30 years in the media field.

Lorna Dueck spent about 35 years working in the field of radio and television broadcasting. The last four as CEO of Crossroads Christian Communications and YES TV. Lorna is probably most well known for her time hosting 100 Huntley Street and most recently has been hosting the program Context Beyond The Headlines on YES TV.

She enjoyed her time in media but it was time to move on, she says. Dueck retired at the end of April.

Lorna Dueck is from Ontario and she broke into media back in the late 1970s. She credits Golden West Broadcasting CEO Elmer Hildebrand for giving her the break she needed to get into the business.

Dueck landed her first TV job in Brandon and eventually ended up in Burlington, Ontario working for Crossroads Christian Communications.
