Manitoba is in store for more hot and sticky weather, prompting Environment Canada to issue heat warnings once again for much of the southern half of the province.

Dave Carlsen, a meteorologist with Environment Canada says the weather feels more like mid-July than mid-August. "It's going to be warm to hot over the next couple of days with temperatures in the low to mid-thirties today."

Carlsen says that Wednesday will likely be the hottest of the two days, and there won't be much relief overnight. Lows are expected in the 17-degree range.

High humidity means that temperatures could feel more like 39 degrees in some areas, including the City of Winnipeg.

There are precautions people should be taking, Carlsen says, including staying indoors during mid-afternoon when temperatures reach their highest point. It's also important, he says, to remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Daytime highs are expected to cool somewhat by Friday, but that still means temperatures reaching the mid to high-twenties.

There may also be some precipitation on the way, with the chance of thunderstorms overnight Wednesday. "You may see something, or you may get nothing," Carlsen says. He also says there is a chance of more rain Friday and Sunday night.
