A highway collision early this morning involving an SUV and an ambulance has killed one and hospitalized three.

Neepawa RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Hwy 16 around 5:20 a.m. on December 27, 2018.

The accident took place between Hwy 352 and Road 74 North, between Gladstone and Neepawa.

RCMP believe that an SUV traveling west on Hwy 16 and an ambulance heading eastbound collided. A 36-year-old Winnipeg female, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Poor road conditions are believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Those who were in the ambulance, including the 37-year-old male driver, a 37-year-old female passenger, and a patient, remain in hospital at this time.

Neepawa RCMP and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist are still investigating the incident.
