Several inches of fresh snow is already on the ground in western Manitoba and more is expected, prompting some highway closures.

Heavy, wet snow is still in the forecast for areas near the Saskatchewan border. Environment Canada says that those areas will see at least 10 - 20 centimetres of snow, with some local areas seeing over 20 centimetres. They remain under a snowfall warning.

Highway 16 was originally closed from Shoal Lake to the Saskatchewan border. However, it has since reopened from Shoal Lake to Highway 264. It is still closed from Highway 264 to the Saskatchewan border.

Highway 45 is closed from Rossburn to the Saskatchewan border.

Highway 83 is closed from Russell to Roblin.
