The Winnipeg Airports Authority is hoping to help travellers have a smooth trip this Christmas, saying there are some things to consider before taking off for the airport.

Many things have changed since most families have traveled pre-pandemic but the Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) cautions that things continue to fluctuate. They are asking people to be aware of the rules of the airports and airlines people are using, along with the regional regulations when they land.

"Travel rules could change so check with your airline to ensure you have the right documents for your trip," the WAA says in a statement.

Everyone aged 12 and four months and older must be fully vaccinated to fly. People travelling domestically in Canada that are fully vaccinated do not have any restrictions.

"If you’re returning from an international destination, you must use the ArriveCAN app to provide mandatory travel information."

They are reminding people to arrive early and know what can and cannot be brought through security.
