A number of people in Winnipeg's homeless community, have once again lost their temporary housing.

A homeless camp, which has been set up under the Osborne Street bridge for the past several months, went up in flames Wednesday morning, sending huge plumes of smoke billowing over the busy roadway.

Fire crews spent just under a half hour dousing the flames.

One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
