It's about to get muddy in Dauphin, Manitoba.

The Catalyst Credit Union Manitoba Mud Run takes place tomorrow, a more-than-10-kilometre obstacle course at the Selo Ukraina site where Countryfest is held.

Co-organizer Clayton Swanton says the run is presented by the Dauphin Rotary Club, and money raised through registration and sponsorship (after expenses) goes back into the rotary club for active living projects in and around Dauphin.

Each year, they also partner with another organization, for which those participating in the Mud Run can raise pledges. This year they're partnering with the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

It is the fifth year for the mud run, and Swanton says it gets bigger and better each year.

"I'd say it's special to this year but we do it every year: we try to revamp our course every year so that if you've done the event before it's still new and exciting for you to come back and do it again. But this year we've completely reversed our course, we haven't done that before."

Swanton says they had about 900 people last year and they're expecting about the same this year.
