A Winnipeg church is showing their neighbourhood just how fun learning about the Bible can be.

Pastor Amy Palacpac wears many hats at Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church but this weekend she is swapping her marketing and music leader hats for a coach's cap during Kingdom Kids Olympics.

"It is inspired by, obviously, the Olympics and also the Bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7," Palacpac says. "So basically, at this event, there are going to be lots of spots and games; it is going to be basketball, hockey, and then some Bible games."

They are anticipating for more than a dozen children will join them on Saturday afternoon for games and music.

"We just thought that this would be a fun event for kids to just be kids, run around and have fun, make some new friends, and all centred around the Bible and the word of God."

Palacpac says it is important for children to have fun at church and is looking forward to seeing their Kingdom Kids Olympics demonstrate that.
