The largest meth seizure in Manitoba's history is worth millions of dollars.

An estimated $6.5 million dollars worth of meth and cocaine were taken by the Manitoba RCMP from a Winnipeg home last Wednesday morning. This operation, Project Declass, was one of eight busts across Manitoba, and one in Calgary, Alberta by authorities. Forty kilograms of cocaine and 22 kilograms of methamphetamine were prevented from hitting the streets.

Eleven people were charged during Project Declass with a total of 66 charges combined. The charges included trafficking meth and cocaine, conspiracy to traffic fentanyl, and money laundering.

Also seized were five vehicles, including a motorcycle. Vehicles and finances seized during Project Declass totalled over $100,000 in value.

The sixteen-month project ran by the Manitoba RCMP worked with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the Canada Border Services Agency. They worked to discover and take down crime rings who were distributing drugs in Manitoba.

Two of the 11 arrested were Winnipeg locals in their mid-thirties.
