As of Wednesday morning it has been reported that all of Fort McMurray's 80,000 residents were evacuated safely, while about 1600 buildings are said to have been destroyed by the wildfire.

We spoke to Scott Malchuk and Sarah Thomas over the phone from a hotel in Fort Saskatchewan Wednesday afternoon. Scott is originally from Manitoba and the two live in Fort McMurray. Scott was away in Edmonton at the time of the evacuation, leaving Sarah to evacuate on her own - and the journey was incredible. Listen to our full conversation.

Martha, a CHVN listener, called Wednesday morning to ask for prayer for those affected by the fire, whether as an evacuee or as a firefighter. Some of her own relatives are among them.

Here's Martha's request.
