The number of COVID-19 tests in Manitoba has more than doubled at provincial sites in less than two weeks.

Despite spikes in testing requests, Manitoba's five-day test positivity is lowering to two per cent. There were 3,553 COVID-19 tests completed on Thursday. Less than two weeks ago, on September 12, the total number of daily tests was more than half that at 1,739.

There are 60 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to an even 60,000 Friday. Of the new cases fifteen people are fully vaccinated, six are partially vaccinated, and 39 have not received a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are 499 active cases and 58,294 recoveries. The number of deaths remains at 1,207.

There are 66 people in the hospital with 34 of those cases having active cases. Three-quarters of the active hospitalizations are people who are not vaccinated, 15 per cent are fully vaccinated, and nine per cent are partially vaccinated.

In intensive care, there are 15 people, with 10 of those people having active cases. All of the active ICU cases are in people who are not vaccinated.
