Manitoba sees 206 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.2 per cent.

There are 206 COVID-19 cases in Manitoba, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 70,340. One new omicron variant case has been identified, bringing the total number of cases to six.

There are 1,779 active cases and 67,204 recoveries.

New cases by health region include:

78 in Winnipeg, 38 people who are not fully vaccinated
73 in Southern, 46 people who are not fully vaccinated
23 in Prairie Mountain, 13 people who are not fully vaccinated
17 in Interlake-Eastern, nine people who are not fully vaccinated
13 in Northern, four people who are not fully vaccinated

Manitoba's five-day test positivity rate is 6.2 per cent, and the rate is 4.4 per cent in Winnipeg.

Hospitalizations and deaths

There are two more deaths, bringing the total to 1,357.

There are 139 COVID-19 patients in the hospital, with 88 of those people having active cases. Out of the active cases, 53 people are not vaccinated, 30 people are fully vaccinated, and five people are partially vaccinated.

There are 34 people in ICU with COVID-19, 26 of those people having active cases. Out of the active cases, 24 people are not vaccinated, and the other two are fully and partially vaccinated.
