Manitoba has topped the charts for the most damaging tornado of 2018.

Environment Canada released its preliminary prairie summer tornado numbers, and while Manitoba only saw eight tornadoes this summer, the EF-4 twister that touched down in Alonsa, Manitoba on August 3rd was by far the strongest. It packed winds between 265km/h to 325km/h, resulting in the death of a 77 year old man and leaving behind a massive path of destruction.

Saskatchewan topped the list with the most tornadoes at nineteen, with three unconfirmed. Eight of those twisters touched down in just one day on July 10th.

Alberta saw just two, with three unconfirmed. Both of Alberta's confirmed tornadoes were landspouts.
