An autistic, non-verbal 16-year-old boy who went missing yesterday has since been safely found.

On May 20, 2019, the 16-year-old went missing. He had been last seen in the Grant Park area.

The boy is a Project Life Saver client and was wearing a transmitter bracelet. Using a Project Life Saver receiver, Winnipeg Police Service (WPS), general patrol, Ground Search and Rescue Unit, and the Rescue Volunteer Association, all worked together and were able to safely locate the missing teen.

He was found nine-and-a-half kilometres away from the Grant Park area.

The WPS is grateful for the help of the community in finding the at-risk teen so quickly.
