There is a new Church building going up in Mitchell.

Good News Centre has been worshipping out of its current facility along Highway 52 for about 14 years now. But spokesperson Nick Mazerolle says the space is very tight and they finally have the resources available to build new.

Crews broke ground about three weeks ago. Mazerolle says it will be a two-storey structure with the main level measuring 4,590 square feet in size. He notes it will be designed along somewhat traditional Church architectural lines.

Mazerolle says they anticipate having the work finished by this time next year. Once the new building is complete, they will remove the old structure in order to make room for parking.

He says they look forward to functioning in a larger, up to date space, with the ability to welcome visitors to a more comfortable setting.
