A drunk driver convicted in the deaths of three boys on a northern Manitoba First Nation has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison.

Todd Linklater has just under six years left in the sentence after credit for time served.

He pleaded guilty last month to impaired driving causing the deaths near Nelson House in April 2018.

In handing down the sentence yesterday, Judge Todd Rambow said Linklater left the boys dying on the road and called his actions "morally despicable.''
