It's a gloomy start to Wednesday across southern Manitoba.

Stephen Berg is a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada. He says there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Winnipeg today.

"They may produce large hail, very high wind gusts, and locally heavy rains," said Berg.

That system will roll out later in the day, but as we head into the weekend, we can expect more rainfall and a possibility of thunderstorms.

"Anywhere from 5 to 25 millimeters of rain is expected, but in thunderstorms it looks like it'll be higher amounts."

The rain will continue into next week with a strong chance of showers on Monday and Tuesday.
