The busy season begins for farmers as the snow leaves and the warm weather begins, which means more equipment on roads.

Manitoba Agriculture and Manitoba Infrastructure are asking that both farmers and drivers make road safety a priority. Over-sized equipment will start showing up on roads and highways around the province.

Motorists are asked to slow down when approaching farm equipment and only pass when it is safe to do so. Drivers should be patient since these large vehicles could cause serious harm to any regular passenger vehicle.

Famers must ensure all their machines have the proper lighting, signage, and reflectors when travelling on roadways, as well as ensuring they are clean. They also ask that equipment is moved during the day on secondary roads, but that is not always possible.
