Local Winnipeg worship artist, Carine Bado, released a video this week of her singing "Blessed Assurance”, in French and English.

Along with the video posted on Instagram were some powerful words of prayer that encourage people to call on the name of the Lord through this time.

“While we stand up together, we also lift up Your name high over the United States and all the nations of the world.”

We rest in You Lord! We rest in the truth of knowing that You have given us a future and a hope, that you created us at Your image and said that ‘’ it is good!’’ While we stand up together, we also lift up your Name high over the United States and all the nations of the World. Lord, we let your words heal our broken hearts and broken relationships! When the sun goes down, while we turn off the screens, when close our eyes may our hearts be filled with a peace that only You can give, a confidence to know that your LOVE and JUSTICE will prevail! #evenwhenithurtsillpraiseyou #breakthrough #bilingualworship #noustadorons #fighting #blessedassurance #dieuestpournous #adoration #conductricedelouange

As a woman of colour, Bado felt that this was the perfect time to put this song out.

“With what is going on regarding racism and the tragedy of the Floyd family and many other black lives, I really felt so tired and frustrated, but just worshipping with that song has helped me renew my mind and find such a peace to know that my life depends on God’s will. He has already said that I have a future and a hope, and peace is my assurance. This is what I believe and this is what I know to be true.”
