During the State of Emergency, the city has placed restrictions on its residents. There is currently a ban at gas stations for private vehicles and snow removal machinery are the only vehicle being permitted to gas up until further notice. Residents are also being warned about Carbon Monoxide and are asking for residents to clear snow around external air releases, particularly their vehicle's exhaust.
There are also several Newfoundland neighbourhoods who are currently experiencing power outages from the storm. Crews are currently working to restore their power.
Select pharmacies and food stores have been opened to the public with more being stores allowed to open tomorrow. Stores are asking residents to call before leaving their homes as everywhere is limited on supplies. Bars, restaurants, fast food chains and food outlets are currently not permitted to open.
Troops have arrived in Newfoundland and are ready to aid the province following an unprecedented snow storm that prompted a domestic @cafoperation #OpLENTUS.
