April will feel more like January or February, at least for the first week of the month.

Jason Knight from Environment Canada says a polar vortex is to blame.

"It's not right over us, but it's close by. It's driving all that Arctic air straight to the south over us."

Knight says that "there's no real reprieve in sight for the next week or so."

Normal daytime highs are in the plus five range, while overnight lows are around minus six.

This week will see highs around minus 10, and lows around minus 20. Wind chills overnight will get as low as -28 at times, Knight says.
