Notre Dame Cathedral held it's first mass in the church since the fire that destroyed much of its exterior in April 2019.

The fire devoured the roof of the cathedral's edifice and resulted in the collapse of its famed spire.

Only around 30 people were allowed to attend the ceremony last Sunday due to security concerns.

According to French officials, the cathedral remains in a fragile state and the public is not allowed to visit it at this time while repairs are ongoing.

French President Emmanuel Macron says that Notre Dame should be reopened to the public in five years, however, no official date has been announced at this time.
