Brandon University is taking action after a final exam in a nursing class was "compromised'' by a large number of students.

The University determined that there was an abnormality with the final exam of students in a second-year nursing class. The school says all students in the class will be offered a chance to repeat the exam with a maximum grade of 70 per cent.

The school says integrity is especially critical in a field like health care and it worked with the faculty member involved, the students and the students' union to appropriately deal with what it describes as a "serious infraction.''

But it says students will be able to appeal the decision individually through the standard appeals process.
