One major street will be shut down for the entire weekend as crews work to repair a railway crossing.

Kenaston Boulevard

There is a complete closure of Kenaston Boulevard between Sterling Lyon Parkway and McGillivray Boulevard for railway crossing repairs. Those kick off this evening and are in effect until Sunday. This will affect everything in the Kenaston Commons and Seasons of Tuxedo. Waverley is an alternate route but is slow with construction at Taylor, so use that route with caution.

Local access to Lindenwood Drive East will be maintained via Lindenwood Drive West. Your best bet, if you live on the south side of the city, is to avoid IKEA this weekend.

Where: Kenaston Boulevard between Sterling Lyon Parkway and McGillivray Boulevard

When: 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22 9:00 p.m.

Empress Street

Southbound Empress Street is already shut down and will remain shut down until the end of the month as they re-pave the road. The work is between Wellington and Sargent. Northbound Empress will remain open and pedestrian access will be allowed on the east sidewalk. Alternate routes include St. James or Sanford.

Where: Southbound Empress Street between Wellington Avenue and Sargent Avenue

When: 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18 to Tuesday, October 31

Brookside Boulevard

Over the weekend, Brookside Boulevard will be completely closed to north and southbound traffic between Eagle and Omand's Creek. Keewatin Street is likely your best detour but anyone travelling that direction should expect significant delays.

Where: Brookside Boulevard between Eagle Drive and Omand's Creek

When: 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 20 to Saturday, October 21 9:00 p.m.
