A new weather system coming through tomorrow may give Manitobans a harsh reminder that it's almost winter.

Enviornment Canada has issued a special weather statement across southern Manitoba, including Winnipeg.

Rain, snow and strong winds are expected in the area starting late Wednseday and into Thursday.

The low pressure system is expected to start with rain, which will quickly change to snow by Wednesday night, with 2 to 4 centimetres possible. The far south of Manitoba may get wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h, with 90km/h gust possible in the lee of the Manitoba Lakes and in the Red River Valley. The wind could cause widespread blowing snow.

We are also likely to see temperatures drop below normal by Thursday.
