Two men are now in custody after a month-long investigation into the homicide of a teenager in October.

Police were called to the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue on the morning of October 7. When they arrived they found 19-year-old Darlus McKay deceased in the front yard.

The Winnipeg Police Service says members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation and identified two male suspects who were known to the victim.

Police believe that the two suspects got into an argument with McKay, which escalated to the victim being shot.

The WPS says that on Friday, November 15, members of the North District Community Support Unit located a 37-year-old suspect at a residence in the 400 block of Boyd Avenue and placed him under arrest. The man, from Winnipeg, has been charged with Manslaughter.

On Sunday, November 17, members of the North District Community Support Unit located a second suspect at a different residence in the 400 block of Boyd Avenue and placed him under arrest. A 26-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2).

Both were detained in custody.
