A Canada Post facility and a building on River Avenue are being given the all-clear after being evacuated Tuesday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Police Service says they do not know if the two incidents are related, but they did occur simultaneously.

At 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the WPS received a call about a suspicious package in the 200 block of River Avenue. The Mayfair Recreation Centre's play area was taped off. At this time, business and residential tenants within the immediate vicinity were evacuated.  Police say this was done as a precaution.

While on River, another 911 call was made about a suspicious package, this time at a Canada Post facility on McDermot Avenue.

Both locations were attended by the Winnipeg Police Bomb Unit. There is no danger to the public.
