The WPS have announced the beginning of an investigation into a suspicious death of a 33-year-old woman that was found at a Winnipeg landfill facility.

Approximately 24 hours ago, the WPS received a report of a deceased individual found at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility.

The deceased was located in an active landfill cell and has been identified as Linda Mary Beardy, a 33-year-old female.

This afternoon, the WPS went live on Facebook to make the announcement that the Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and to answer any questions they can.

People flooded the comments of the live video indicating that no one should be found in a dump and this woman deserves justice and included the hashtag #searchthelandfill.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
