Police have made an arrest from a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in January 2019.

On January 11, 2019, a collision between two vehicles and a pedestrian occurred at the intersection of Maroons Road and St. James Street.

Following the accident, police believed that a southbound vehicle making an eastbound turn at the intersection had collided with a vehicle heading northbound.

Police say they have now arrested and charged a 46-year-old male from Winnipeg with disobeying a traffic control device and careless driving causing death. The male was the driver of the vehicle that collided with the second vehicle and then hit a female pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
