Police are asking the public for assistance after a female was sexually assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

At approximately 12:30, WPS responded to a call of a sexual assault in the Richmond West neighbourhood at Kirkbridge Park. 

The victim who is in her 20s was walking home from a bus stop on Pembina Highway. As she was going through the park, she was pushed to the ground by an unknown male and sexually assaulted. The suspect would flee on a bicycle and the female ran to safety. Police were contacted, and the victim received medical attention. 

The Sex Crimes Unit is in the early stages of gathering more information after taking over the investigation. An initial suspect description is as follows:

  • A male with light skin who spoke English
  • Average build, approximately 5’8” in height
  • He was wearing all black, with a black baseball cap, and black pants
  • He was wearing a black Covid type of mask
  • Bicycle (no description at this time)
