The province is sharing COVID-19 data from the past three days.

New cases

Over the course of three days, between Friday to Monday morning, there were 181 new cases. The total number of COVID-19 cases is 56,920. Of the total cases, 1,025 are active cases, 54,733 are recoveries, and 1,025 have died. As of Monday, a woman in her 40s from the Winnipeg health region and a male in his 70s from the Interlake-Eastern Regional health region, linked to the B.1.1.7 (alpha) variant of concern has died.

New cases Monday include:

• four new cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
• three new cases in the Northern health region;
• two new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;   
• two new cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and   
• 20 new cases in the Winnipeg health region

There were 87 new cases on Saturday and 63 cases on Sunday.

Manitoba's current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is five per cent and Winnipeg's is 4.1 per cent.

Hospitalizations

There are 138 Manitobans in hospital with COVID-19.

Hositpalizations include:

  • 52 people in hospital in Manitoba with active COVID-19 as well as 83 people in hospital with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious
  • three Manitobans in Ontario receiving ICU care
  • 30 Manitobans are receiving ICU care, with 10 people in intensive care units in Manitoba with active COVID-19 as well as 20 people with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care

 

Vaccines

As of Monday morning, 2,026,220 doses of vaccine have been delivered, with 1,600,522 of those administered. On Wednesday, the province is hosting a Vax-A-Thon, encouraging people to get their vaccine at any of the province's supersites, including the RBC Centre. Moderna will be primarily given out, prioritizing Pfizer for those aged 12-17.
