New cases

There are 717 new COVID-19 cases being recorded Monday. There are 2,755 newly recorded cases from the weekend.

The province says there is a 51.7 per cent decrease in cases since the week before. This comes after the province limited PCR tests, giving out rapid tests for people to take at home instead.

There is now a total of 110,593 COVID-19 cases. Manitoba's five-day test rate is 34.5 per cent.

The province says they have recorded 39,961 people who have active cases, and 69,169 people who have recovered.

According to the provincial dashboard, people who are vaccinated and unvaccinated are just as likely to test positive for the virus at this point, but unvaccinated people are 21 times more likely to end up in the hospital and 17 times more likely to end up in intensive care.

An earlier statement from the province said a female in her 90s was linked to the outbreak at Prairie View Lodge personal care home in Crystal City. This has since been corrected.
